Mission
It’s the mission of the Archuleta County Human Resources Department to provide centralized support and solutions to workplace matters to the Archuleta County administration, elected officials, department heads, supervisors and employees in the areas of human resources and risk management through –
- Compliance with Federal and State employment regulations
- Compliance with federal drug testing regulations
- Provide advice to County Administration, Elected Officials and Department Heads concerning policies and procedures associated with the management of employee related matters
- Provide services to employees regarding benefits, compensation and work related injuries
- Employee development & performance management
- Employee policy administration
- Employee pay classification and compensation management
- Employee set-up and maintenance of payroll information
- Employee benefits administration
- Retirement plan administration
- Employee recruitment and selection
- Workers compensation administration
- Property & casualty plan administration
- Maintain and administer employee records management

2024 Accomplishments
- Expand the annual employee benefits & wellness fair at no cost to the employee or the County.
- Continued to scan and digitize employee records.
- Enhance the use of Incode by using previously un-used modules.
- Update Personnel Policy and Procedures handbook
